Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens office have ruled an early morning
house fire in Dade County that left a woman dead and three others injured undetermined.
Discovered dead in the fire was Brandy Hester, 26. The house, located at 571 S. US Hwy, 11 Rising
Fawn, Ga., was destroyed. The fire was reported by a neighbor around 1 a.m.
“Because of extensive damage to the home, my fire investigator was unable to determine the exact
cause, Hudgens said.” “He found nothing suspicious about the origin of this tragic fire and believes
that unattended cooking potential may have started the blaze.”
The Dade County Fire Department and Dade County Sheriff’s Office worked with Hudgens’
office on the case.
The death is the 70th fire fatal in Georgia for 2017.
