The hunt for two escaped inmates, Ricky Dubose (24) and Donnie Rowe (43), has intensified nationwide. The two inmates allegedly shot and killed two correctional officers on Tuesday morning.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the FBI are offering a combined award of $90,000 for the escaped inmates.
During a Wednesday press conference, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said he was frustrated that these two inmates have been able to evade law enforcement. “My professional opinion is that probably, they’re not in the area, but I couldn’t guarantee that,” he said. “Two correction officers have been murdered — it’s very frustrating.”
The Athens Clark County Sheriff’s Twitter page shows the white pick-up truck’s tag the two inmates have stolen near I-20 in Morgan County on Tuesday night or Wednesday. The truck was stolen less than 10 miles from the sheriff’s office. The truck has not been spotted at this time according to the sheriff’s office.
